Principles in action
Every day across the globe we strive to make a positive difference to people, communities and the environment around us. Here’s a short summary of how we’re acting on our principles to create positive change.
Planet
From the way we source our ingredients, to how we fuel our factories and package our products, we are mindful of our impact on the world around us. We’re at our best when sound environmental, social and economic practices are part of everything we do. We take great care to plan for the future and minimise waste at every turn.
More
People
We aim to make a difference by respecting diversity and encouraging inclusion. Through consistently improving our health and safety practices. By providing volunteer opportunities for our associates. And through philanthropy with real impact.

Performance
Increasing the simplicity and efficiency of our operations keeps lifting our business to new heights. And remaining financially sound affords us the freedom to forge ahead with an inspiring vision of the future.

Our initiatives: what's going on right now?
What's important to our customers is just as important for us and our business. That's why we partner with business communities, the governments and NGOs to act on important business issues like littered gum, nutrition labelling regulations and health.
Highlights
'Bin it!' -- Wrigley UK's schools programme
Launched in 2006, the Bin It! Schools programme is committed to making 11-13 year olds more aware of the value of their local environment, by helping them to see the impact of anti-social behaviour, such as the consequences of dropping chewing gum. To date we’ve got the Bin it! message across to over 42,000 pupils in 289 schools.
The programme features a team of actors who visit schools to encourage greater awareness of the environment and educate young people about responsible litter disposal.
CHICKS
Wrigley UK has been supporting the charity Country Holidays for Inner City Kids (CHICKS) since 2005. CHICKS is a non-political, non-denominational charity, providing free respite breaks in the West Country for children from all parts of the UK. These children are predominantly from inner cities with a background of disadvantage, abuse, living in social services care or are child carers who look after sick or disabled parents full time.
The ethos behind these breaks is to provide a loving, caring environment; developing and encouraging self-esteem, wellness and diversity. Wrigley UK has supported the charity, not just financially by assisting with the purchase of their Moorland retreat centre and other facilities but, just as importantly, through the enthusiasm and dedication of our associates, who have been proactive and committed to helping the charity.
